In Digital Technologies, ideas of how data is represented and structured symbolically is explored.  Data may include characters (for example, alphabetic letters, numbers and symbols), images, sounds and/or instructions that, when represented by number codes, can be manipulated, stored and communicated by digital systems.  How such data is represented requires an understanding of the steps and decisions needed to represent them.

This resource aims to support teachers to implement understandings that different types of data can be represented in different ways and that a sequence of steps can be used to create and solve data representation problems..
